WEEK SIX

  • Origami

We have another fantastic session this week from Esther, our artist in residence. Watch Esther’s origami film to learn how to make these really striking sonobe geometric shapes. Origami can be done anywhere and is a wonderful mindful way to unwind, and therefore good for our wellbeing. Why not give it a go when you need a break from school work or over the weekend. If you prefer to follow a paper guide use these Origami instructions and don’t forget to share your creations on our Instagram page.

  • A summer baking challenge

Did you watch our Food and Mood film? If you did, then you will know that eating cake is fine (some days!) but baking cakes is definitely good for us. Baking is a chance to unwind, get creative and of course you get to enjoy the results with a family member or perhaps get a friend over to your garden for a socially distanced catch up.

This week we challenge you to make a summer themed cake. It will be judged entirely on the decoration (sadly we cannot taste it). All you need to do is take a photo, then email it to ekstfeelgoodfriday@gmail.com or post on Instagram and tag @EastKentSchoolsTogether by the 26 June. The best will win a £20 Amazon voucher.

  • Illustration for wellbeing

Something new this week from one of our Student Voice team – a short instructional video on how on how to digitally illustrate text. During this video you will be lead step-by-step through the quick and easy process of illustrating your favourite word. This is a really lovely way to unwind using your smart phone or tablet.

  • Finally….

If you did not get a chance to sing with Lemon last week, watch the Sleep and your body clock presentation by sleep therapist Kirsty or have a go at the creative challenge, they are all still on our FGF week 5 page for you to enjoy as a boost to your wellbeing. Enjoy and share:  @EastKentSchoolsTogether
