Feel-Good-Friday week4

Date/Time:
Friday 22 May, 6:54pm - Tuesday 1 September, 6:54pm

With the half-term break upon us, this fourth Feel-Good-Friday includes hand-picked activities perfect for a holiday in lock-down. We hope that they encourage you to take time out, enjoy being creative and have a reason to meet up with a friend for a social distanced nature walk.

  • Make a Boro Organiser

This week our artist-in-residence Esther has put together an amazing video guide on how to make a brilliant organiser from a pair of old jeans. If you prefer you can download this printable Boro Organiser How to guide. Not only will this be a new and interesting project but the end result will help you get organised for back to school after the holidays.

Esther’s Tassel & Pom-Pom Garland making and Simple Book Binding guides are still available should you not have had a chance to make these already.

Our Big Chill event for students earlier this year was an opportunity for them to learn stress management skills, the importance of self-care and enjoy the benefits of spending time in nature. Currently getting out for a walk is one of our daily treats and now we are permitted to meet up with a friend for a walk it can be a really uplifting part of the day.

Sian from The Bay Trust has made this wonderful video guide to show us how we can benefit more from nature this early summer – wherever that might be. Why not watch before a walk this holiday and perhaps use your phone to record your own walk or take photos of what you see. We would love it if you shared them on our new Instagram page @EastKentSchoolsTogether #FeelGoodFriday

  • Our writing competition

Put pen to paper this half-term and get published in our professional Mind’s Eye Kent magazine. This is a really great opportunity, not only to share how the lock-down has affected you but also to see your work in print.

There are top tips on our website, details on how to submit and information on how you could win a £20 Amazon voucher.

Don’t forget to share your creative activities on our new Instagram page @EastKentSchoolsTogether so that we can still be together, even if it is just virtually!
