FOUNDATION: FINDING STRENGTH IN THE NOW
5 top tips to reduce stress & anxiety, to incorporate healthy habits, empowering you to remain more relaxed & positive and to improve wellbeing during these challenging times.

Notes about the session:

  • The programme will run in six sessions as attached, to be held weekly on Mondays at 17:00 from 2 November to 7 December. You do not need to attend all sessions but are warmly welcomed to do so. 
  • Participants should be in a warm, calm, quiet space, ideally seated at their desk chair (so as not to slump) with a glass of water available.
  • All sessions will be seated, other than Session 2 which will require some standing.
  • We will send a recurring Zoom link for you to share with participants in advance of each session. Lucy will open the room at 16:45 to allow participants in and it will be closed promptly at 17:00.
  • All participant cameras and microphones should be switched off during the session.

A message from Lucy:

I’m very much looking forward to sharing this journey of discovery with you, helping you to find calm and relaxation in this most turbulent of times.  Expect to learn tools to help you breathe more deeply, think more clearly and move more comfortably as we travel together towards a healthy and steady mind, body and spirit.

We recommend you find somewhere comfortable, calm and cosy to join these sessions; this can be at your desk, on the floor or on the sofa. Have plenty of space around you so you can stand up and move when necessary.  Turn your phone off, dim the lights and maybe even put a ‘do not disturb’ sign on your door!

This time is for you to heal, nurture and explore.  Can’t wait to get started.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM EACH SESSION IN THE PROGRAMME

  1. FOUNDATION: FINDING STRENGTH IN THE NOW
    5 top tips to reduce stress & anxiety, to incorporate healthy habits, empowering your team to remain more relaxed & positive and to improve wellbeing during these challenging times.
  2. BODY: EASING OUT PHYSICAL ACHES & PAINS
    Movement practices from your desk, chair or sofa, to stretch and strengthen your body, relieve back, neck, wrist and shoulder pain and to restore / increase core strength, stability and balance.
  3. FINDING CALM THROUGH BALANCE
    Using yogic standing postures & practices, we learn how to use our physical bodies to support our minds and regain a sense of inner strength, equanimity and calm in the eye of the storm.
  4. BREATHING & THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
    When we understand more about the science behind the breath, and the power that it holds over our mood we can start to use it to our advantage. Only then can we learn some brilliant strategies to calm and steady ourselves with nothing more than the air we breathe!
  5. MIND & THE BRAIN WAVES
    In this session we will explore how we can regulate our brain waves for our optimal functioning, using some ancient meditation practices in very modern language to help you master your mind and steady the inevitable rise and fall of the waves.
  6. CREATIVITY: EMBRACING YOUR INNER ‘SUPERPOWER’
    Combining intellect, emotion and gut instinct into a new and powerful super force leads to a creative clarity of thought and feeling that can be super liberating and help convert problems to opportunities.
