Practical engineering training hosted by CCCU open to STEM subject teachers

Time:
9:00am - 3:30pm
Date:
Wednesday 10 July
Location:
Canterbury Christ Church University

The Secondary Engineer® Fluid Power Challenge is a pneumatics and hydraulics systems project ideally suited to be a transition project.

Developed with support of the British Fluid Power Association (BFPA) British Compressed Air Society (BCAS), Construction Equipment Association (CEA) and WEBTEC the project will give schools the opportunity to engage in an exciting design and make project. This will not only support the study of STEM in a practical manner but will give pupils the opportunity to work with engineers in the classroom and compete against teams from other schools.

Teachers attend a one day practical training course to enable them to deliver a curriculum mapped, whole class, engineering project.

The training will take place on 10th July at Canterbury Christ Church University. The training is for up to 4 members of staff from each school across the STEM subjects – Science, Maths and Design Technology, to develop cross curricular STEM teaching and learning in secondary schools. Access to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) is included for teachers where teaching and printable resources can be found. Schools will be/are invited to a celebration event – run and managed by Primary Engineer® Programmes.
