The pandemic has presented us with some tough ethical choices.  Health or freedom? Lives or livelihoods? The greatest good of the greatest number or individual rights? Present or future generations?

In this talk for the BEP Let’s Explore series Professor Angie Hobbs discusses the work she has done in a variety of media – videos, podcasts, radio, print – to show how philosophy can illuminate these issues and help us think creatively about possible solutions. Angie Hobbs is Professor of the Public Understanding of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield. Her chief interests are in ancient philosophy and literature, and ethics and political theory – and she has published widely in these areas. She contributes regularly to radio and TV programmes and other media.

Suitable for students in Year 10 and above. If students register independently, please ensure they use their school email address.
