Enterprise Event at CCCU

Event Objectives

To offer an afternoon event for students with an interest in business and enterprise.

The event will raise student’s expectations of their own capability, develop their presenting skills and experience, widen horizons through the collaboration of students from different schools/backgrounds and aspirations will be raised through the experience of being mentored throughout the day by CCCU Business School student ambassadors.

The Enterprise Challenge: information and guidelines

  • A full risk assessment will be provided in advance
  • Each EKST partner school is invited to bring up to eight Year 9 or Year 10 students to this event
  • The event is aimed at Business Studies students but students with an interest in Enterprise are equally welcome
  • Up to 56 students will take part in the challenge and the students will be mixed up and split into 10 teams and each team will be supported by CCCU Ambassadors
  • Schools to arrive at CCCU on the day by 11.45am for a 12noon start
  • Schools to arrange for pupils to bring a packed lunch and we will provide drinks/biscuits for a break
  • Lunch will be provided for staff members and the ‘Dragons’
  • Certificates of achievement will be awarded for all attending
  • CCCU will provide prizes for the winning team and runners up
  • The event will be evaluated by students and staff
  • A photographer will capture the event

The Enterprise Challenge: structure of the day

11.45am – Students to arrive. CCCU can offer tours of the building for any arriving early

12.00noon – Suzanne O’Brien from CCCU Business School and a member of Business Cluster group to welcome those attending and introduce the challenge

12.10pm – Icebreaker session with CCCU ambassadors who will split students in to groups

12.20pm – Students to work for one hour on their plan

1.20pm – Break

1.40pm – 5 minute presentations to the Dragons with 5 minutes to ask questions

2.45pm – Winners announced

3.00pm – Departure
