EKST Art Project – Connection, Place, Belonging
Plans are underway for a new partnership-wide art project, made possible through the generous support of its funders.
Seven secondary schools have confirmed their participation, with students from Years 10 to 13 taking part. Titled Connection, Place, Belonging, the year-long project will explore themes linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities). Students will develop their own responses within this framework, guided by artist Kathryn McArdle, who previously led the highly successful Print Pilgrimage project.
Participating schools include St Anselm’s Catholic School, The Abbey School, St Edmund’s, The Archbishop’s School, Kent College, and Herne Bay High School.
EKST extends its thanks to all partner schools for their involvement, with the project designed to be as light-touch as possible for staff. Thanks are also due to Canterbury Christ Church University for supporting the exhibition of students’ work at the Daphne Oram Gallery in June 2026.
