 Induction Training for Careers Leader/Careers Adviser – BOOK YOUR PLACE

We have developed a three module workshop, each an hour long and delivered using MS Teams, for ALL Kent & Medway Careers Leaders and Careers Advisers. The training covers everything you need to know about the network, its purpose, role of the EA, connection with Careers Link Governors (CLG), other stakeholders and a drill down in to the Benchmarks.

 The workshops are useful even if you are or have taken part in the Careers Leader qualification.

Attendees MUST attend all THREE Modules which will be delivered using MS Teams on

January 12th, 19th and 26th

Inspiring the Future have launched a portal for school staff to find virtual volunteers to take part in virtual activities. The aim is to inspire young people in fun an engaging ways. It’s led by teachers and it’s free! Register and start searching for Virtual Encounter Volunteers  

Apprenticeships Virtual event: February 2021

Pre-register for FREE Rate My Apprenticeship’s Virtual Event taking place on the 3rd & 4th February 2021. This is a chance for Years 10 – 13 to meet employers from a range of different industries, find out more about apprenticeships and get key information about how to apply.

FREE NCS Support for Schools (see attached)

The FREE NCS School Support Programme can be delivered in school or virtually and is open to all schools, colleges, alternative education provisions for Years 11 – 13. Interested schools should email Ben Powell BPowell@ingeus.co.uk.

The programmes are aligned with Gatsby Benchmarks, with some workshops aligned with PHSE programmes, please discuss with Ben.

BBC Young Reporter Virtual Workshops (see attached)

The workshops aim to provide young people with the skills they need to understand the media, find out more about the range of careers and pathways into the creative industry, and encourage them to report on the stories that matter to them. Airbus’ Aerospace Virtual Work Experience: December 2020

Airbus design, manufacture and deliver industry-leading commercial aircraft, helicopters, military transports, satellites and launch vehicles, as well as providing data services, navigation, secure communications, urban mobility and other solutions for customers on a global scale. During the free two week virtual work experience programme, students will be introduced to team members from some of the key teams within their business from space to civil aviation. The programme involves around 10 hours of activity to be completed over the fortnight so it can fit around your schedule whether that be school or college. Register for the Airbus Virtual Work Experience

RAEng STEM Cluster CPD via TEAMS 19th November 4.30 – 5.30 please share with your STEM Team

Royal Academy of Engineering CPD session entitled “This is Engineering – Entertainment” is an opportunity to network, share good practice and for teachers to enhance STEM Curriculum, in building the knowledge and confidence to engage more pupils with STEM learning. Following the workshop, you will receive up to 20 individual STEM packs that can be used in pairs in lessons or at home for self-isolating students. Activity themes include – visual effects, TV Broadcasting, Virtual Reality 3D design, fitness hacking and electrical light effects.
