The 2019 Big Splash a BIG HIT

On 19 March 78 Key Stage 3 students from each of our seven partner schools flooded in to Kingsmead Leisure Centre at 9am to start a four hour event with collaboration at its heart. Encouraging students to work together with students from other schools they have not met before on new challenges, training and team building sessions made the event lively and busy. The event on the ground was run by ten fantastic Canterbury Christ Church University student ambassadors who were great role models and get the most out of the students, developing their confidence and resilience.

We were thrilled to have some of EKST’s valued funders with us for the event and award ceremony – Active Life, Canterbury City Council and The Lawson Trust.

We also were lucky to have an ex-pupil of King’s School with us, Millie Knight paralympian, to say a few words and give the final Endeavour Award to the winner – a student from Dover Christ Church Academy.

A big thanks to Dan and Emma from CCCU, Craig from the Kings Rec, Linley from The King’s School, Giles and the team from Active Life and all the teachers from EKST schools who made the event the success it was.
