The Big Splash

This event, designed by our student representatives, aims to raise student’s expectations of their own capability, give them a new confidence, introduce them to new activities and develop their sense of well-being.

What you need to know: 

• The event will take place at Kingsmead Leisure Centre, Canterbury in partnership with Active Life
• Each partner school is to select 6 girls and 6 boys from Key Stage 3 to attend this event
• Teams should be accompanied by 1 female and 1 male member of staff
• CCCU will be provide 8 sports student ambassadors to be captains
• Students will be mixed up and split into 4 teams (2 teams of 18 girls each and 2 teams of 18 boys each)
• Teams need to be at Kingsmead ready to start at 9am dressed in their PE kit and need to have with a swimming costume/googles/a towel/an extra T-shirt, should they wish to wear one in the pool, and a packed lunch.
• There will be awards and certificates presented at the end of the day
• The event will be evaluated by all involved to help EKST to plan similar events in the future
• Students will leave the event at 1.30pm
