Introduction to Debating

The event aims to outline what is involved in a competitive pupil-led school debate, especially for those who would like to take part in the tournament on 8th November but have never debated before, including:
A general introduction to the British Parliamentary format (common at schools level)
A demonstration debate and judging feedback
Mini debates – (pupils)
Aimed at:
Ideally students from Y10-13 interested in taking part in debating tournaments (including the King’s event on 8th November), plus accompanying staff, ideally those involved in the school’s debating society
Timings:
Detailed timings for the running order are to be confirmed, however groups should aim to arrive by 2pm and we will aim to be finished by about 6pm. Light refreshments will be available through the afternoon.
