History/ PSHE Workshop with renowned historian Dr. Fern Riddell

Many thanks to Kent College for hosting this fantastic workshop for EKST colleague.

“It will be a workshop for history teachers but also potentially for PSHE. Fern will talk about her work and the history that she does – which includes feminism, women’s history, LGBTQ+, radicalisation (many of the topics covered in PSHE, which is why it might be suitable for those teachers too, or those that want to do a cross-curricula project?). She would like teachers to bring along a lesson or idea that they would like to work on more, for example, for me we want to build in more women’s history and incorporate the Suffragettes into our scheme of work. Fern sees this as a start of a collaboration with history teachers to see what we want and need to bring strong, powerful histories into the classroom. “
