The St Edmund’s annual arts festival is now in its fourth year and continues to go from strength to strength and is now firmly established in the Canterbury arts calendar.
At the heart of St Edmund’s Festival is the opportunity for young people to showcase their own talents and watch, listen and work alongside world-class artists.
The 2020 programme is looking very exciting; the opening night act is the amazing Courtney Pine with his House of Legends band. We also have Jess Gillam in Concert, Ray Gelato’s Giants ‘ A salute to swing’, Art Exhibition, Carnival Family Day, Cabaret, West End to Broadway, Strictly Festival and much more.
As part of Festival this year we are proud to announce a new exciting art competition for young people aged 15 – 18 in East Kent. This project is in association with one of our Festival Partners, The Canterbury Auction Galleries, who like us are committed to giving artistic opportunities to young people in East Kent.
The winner and their art teacher will be invited to participate in a 2-day workshop with renowned artist Ian Murphy (www.ianmurphyartist.com) on 24/25 June 2020. The first prize also includes a cash prize of £100 and a trophy presented by The Canterbury Auction Galleries. The deadline is 15 May 2020 and to find out more contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
